Accessibility
Last updated: 3 October 2026
Braille Music Editor is made for blind and visually impaired musicians, so this website must be as easy to use as the software itself. This page explains what we have done, how the site was tested and how to tell us about any problem.
Standard
The website is designed to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
How the site was tested
- With the screen readers NVDA and JAWS, in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox on Windows.
- Using the keyboard only, on every page.
- With automated checks (axe-core) on every page, in several languages, including colour contrast.
- At 200% and 400% zoom and on small screens, without horizontal scrolling.
What the site offers
- A “Skip to main content” link at the top of every page.
- Clear headings and page regions (header, navigation, main content, footer) for quick navigation with a screen reader.
- Every button, link and menu has a clear name, including the purchase buttons, which also announce the license and its price.
- When you choose a language, the page also tells your screen reader which language to use.
- A clearly visible focus indicator for keyboard users.
- High-contrast colours, also in dark mode when your system uses it, and reduced animation when your system asks for it.
- Easy-to-read fonts (Lexend), with a plain zero without a slash, which helps readers with dyslexia.
- Videos start only when you press play, and nothing moves or plays by itself.
- No cookie banners, pop-ups or time limits.
Content from other services
Some parts of the experience are provided by other services, whose accessibility we do not control:
- Videos are played by YouTube, which also provides the subtitles.
- Payments are completed on PayPal's secure page.
- The Braille Library is hosted by MuVIe at library.muvie.eu. More about the project: muvie.eu.
If you have difficulty with any of these, write to us and we will help you complete your purchase or find what you need, for example by email and bank transfer.
